Harness Flux is John Masters, who was born of the DC indie pop/rock scene in the 90’s when labels like Teenbeat and Simple Machines put to wax some of the town’s finest groups. From those influences John fronted the band Metropolitan, 00’s garage rock with Pavement tendencies and SY propensities. Simple unassuming lo-fi pop? Initially I thought so, but I’m not sure. There’s something deliberately artful and captivating in these compositions. They simply fill a musical space that’s been empty for a long long time.
