From those influences John fronted the band Metropolitan, 00’s garage rock with Pavement tendencies and SY propensities. Simple unassuming lo-fi pop? Initially I thought so, but I’m not sure. There’s something deliberately artful and captivating in these compositions. They simply fill a musical space that’s been empty for a long long time.
